Miami Shores
Built in 1950 on a large corner lot in Miami Shores, this single-story residence had good bones and great proportions, but years of piecemeal updates had left the house without a clear point of view. Dune stripped the home back, opening the interior, strengthening its connection to the outdoors, and introducing custom woodwork and craftsmanship throughout.
Rather than radically changing the architecture, the goal was to work within the simplicity of the original single-story home and make every element feel considered. The result is a house that remains unmistakably Miami Shores in scale and character, but feels entirely custom from its built-ins and cabinetry to the way the interior spaces open onto the garden.
